Abstract

Traditional beverage dispensing systems often depend on manual operations, resulting in inefficiencies and long queues for consumers. To address these issues, modern innovations demand beverage dispensers with user-friendly interfaces and efficient mechanisms powered by environmentally sustainable technologies. This study centers on developing an automated touchscreen interface for a beverage dispenser utilizing Raspberry Pi 4. Furthermore, in light of current environmental concerns, the integration of green energy and mechatronics technology aims to enhance energy efficiency, enable precise control, and promote a more eco-friendly dispensing process. The researchers will utilize the Experimental Prototyping Method, enabling them to develop, test, and refine the prototype to ensure its quality and functionality. Various hardware and software components will be integrated in building the prototype. It will undergo continuous and rigorous testing to assess its efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Furthermore, surveys will be conducted among buffet and unlimited restaurants in Quezon City to gather relevant data. The responses will be evaluated using weighted mean analysis and a 4-point Likert scale. Through the Experimental Prototyping Method, the researchers successfully developed an Automated Touchscreen Monitor Interface for Beverage Dispensers using Raspberry Pi 4. Survey feedback from buffet and unlimited restaurants in Quezon City shows that most respondents strongly agree on the prototype’s effectiveness in terms of functionality, efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and safety. The researchers assert that the development of an Automated Touchscreen Monitor Interface using Raspberry Pi 4, integrated with a mechatronics system and solar power backup, offers an innovative and efficient solution for beverage dispensing systems.
