Abstract

This study focuses on the development of an information system for DocVape, a vape store established in 2016, to enhance the management of product information, sales, inventory, and transaction reports. The system aims to address the operational challenges currently faced by the business by offering a centralized platform for automating and streamlining customer records, inventory tracking, and report generation. The project followed the Waterfall Model, a structured development methodology consisting of requirements gathering, system design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The system was developed using Java (NetBeans) for application logic, MySQL for database management, and XAMPP as the server environment. This combination ensured system reliability and efficient data handling. Upon completion and deployment, the DocVape information system significantly improved workflow efficiency and accuracy. Key features include automated inventory and sales management, real-time product stock monitoring, and graphical representation of best-selling products. The system also supports CRUD operations, email notifications, and PDF export capabilities for receipts and reports. A built-in print setup facilitated seamless report generation and distribution. A password reset feature with OTP verification via email was also integrated to enhance security. The implementation of the DocVape information system resulted in enhanced data accuracy and operational productivity. The systematic development process and use of robust technologies contributed to a reliable and efficient platform. Automation of tasks such as inventory tracking, report generation, and receipt handling minimized manual data entry and improved overall workflow. Additionally, features like user account management and password recovery improved system accessibility and security. Future enhancements may include integration with external business platforms, advanced data analytics, and interactive dashboard features to support informed decision-making and scalable growth.
