Abstract

An Evaluation of the Treatment Program for Female Inmates at Camp Tomas Karingal, Quezon City This study aimed to assess the treatment programs implemented at the Female Dormitory in Camp Tomas Karingal, Quezon City. A descriptive quantitative research design was utilized, with purposive sampling employed to select the respondents. The participants consisted of twenty-five (25) persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and twenty-five (25) wardens from the Quezon City Female Dormitory. Before data collection, the survey questionnaire was reviewed and improved with the assistance of the researchers’ thesis adviser and professors. It was also evaluated by a grammarian to ensure grammatical accuracy and clarity. Once the instrument was approved, the researchers proceeded with the distribution of the survey to gather relevant data regarding the implementation and effectiveness of the treatment programs. The results were presented in the order of the research problems outlined in Chapter 1, accompanied by tables, statistical analysis, and narrative interpretation to clearly describe the findings. The age distribution of the 50 respondents—composed of 25 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and 25 wardens or jail officers—was as follows: the largest group was aged 26 to 33 years, with a frequency of 25 (50%). This was followed by the 34 to 41 age group with 12 respondents (24%), the 18 to 25 age group with 6 respondents (12%), the 42 to 50 age group with 4 respondents (8%), and those aged 51 and above with 3 respondents (6%).  In terms of program effectiveness, the average weighted mean for Table 1 (Education Program) was 3.68, interpreted as Strongly Agree. Table 2 (Skills Development Program) had an average weighted mean of 3.60, also interpreted as Strongly Agree, while Table 3 (Reintegration Program) showed an average weighted mean of 3.66, likewise interpreted as Strongly Agree. These results indicate a high level of agreement among respondents regarding the effectiveness of the treatment programs implemented at the Female Dormitory in Camp Tomas Karingal. This study enabled the researchers to acquire a comprehensive understanding and meaningful insights into the treatment programs implemented at the Female Dormitory in Camp Tomas Karingal, Quezon City.
