A A STUDY IN THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY IN PREVENTING AND DETECTING PICKPOCKETING AT NOVALICHES PROPER, QUEZON CITY

According to Mugari et al. (2020), as urban areas grow more congested, pickpocketing continues to pose a significant problem for public safety officials. Nonetheless, technological advancements have brought forth new techniques to deter and alleviate these offenses. This study primarily seeks to determine how technology can help in preventing and detecting pickpocketing in Novaliches Proper, Quezon City. As cities grow more populated, pickpocketing remains a notable issue for public safety officials, as observed by Mugari et al. (2020). This research will employ a descriptive methodology. The study will involve fifty (50) participants from local community members, police officers, and barangay staff in Novaliches Proper, Quezon City. The researchers will utilize a purposive sampling method to distribute questionnaires to fifty (50) participants Based on the formulated sub-problem, the study's conclusions are as follows. Of the fifty (50) respondents, twenty-four (24) to twenty-nine (29) years old, or sixteen (16) or thirty-two percent (32%), fall within this age range. There were twenty-seven (27) out of fifty (50) respondents, or 54% of the survey participants, who were female. Of the fifty (50) respondents, seventeen (17) or thirty-four percent (34%), have lived in their current residence for more than fifteen years 15. The respondents' evaluation of the effectiveness of technology in stopping and identifying pickpocketing at Novaliches Proper, Quezon City, in terms of 2.1 Offender Identification yields a weighted mean rating of 3.12 overall. The goal of this research is to apply technologically advanced, sustainable solutions that improve the ability to identify and stop pickpocketing. The project aims to make Novaliches Proper a safer and more secure public space by utilizing contemporary surveillance methods, encouraging community involvement, and strengthening infrastructure.
