Abstract

The criminology researcher aims to discover the causes of the increasing child trafficking in
Monumento Caloocan City. Although there is a law (R. A 9208) that has been passed against
it, the continuous increase in Child trafficking has still not stopped. To find out what steps are
being taken by our police officers in the Monumento area to suppress this crime and also to
research the barangay programs for this problem if they are effective in fighting and keeping
minors away from becoming victims of child traffickers and what else should be improved
especially for the police officer in their action taken to prevent this crime and also to the
barangay officials so that child trafficking in Monumento will eventually decrease soon as
possible.

The main reason why many young people become victims of this crime is because of the socio
-economic status or poverty they face on a daily basis. Second, is the lack of guidance from
their parents, so they are easily influenced by the environment, and the third is the lack of strict
implementation of the law so the traffickers can operate freely
The results demonstrate what we are going to do: Strictly implement the policies prohibiting
child trafficking (R.A 7610, R.A 9208). Conduct training and awareness programs for the
community. Provide counseling to a trafficked child and to the family. Provide an active
helpline to report trafficking. Livelihood and skills training program for the victim and the family.
