Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a global health issue and had a major effect on education. Consequently, halfway through the second semester of academic year 2019-2020, learning methods were delivered through distanced learning. Blended Learning is a method of teaching that integrates technology and digital media with the traditional instructors as they led classroom activities giving students more flexibility to customize their learning experiences. Blended Learning is combined with the aspect of face-to-face teaching and involves instruction in ways that enable students to learn at their own pace.
The researchers utilized the descriptive method in determining the Bestlink College of the Philippines third-year BEED students’ perception of the implementation of blended learning in S.Y 2022-2023. A random sampling technique was used in selecting respondents who are from three sections of BEED third-year students.
The researchers found that blended learning affects the academic performance of BEED third-year students in terms of mastery of the subject matter, teacher strategy, and time management. The perception of BEED third-year students of face-to-face learning provide information on the importance of being on time in going to school and effective engagement in class. Digital or online learning also allows students to spend less on transportation and printed materials, while modular distance learning will allow students to spend less on transportation.
Blended learning positively affects the academic performance of BEED third-year as they feel confident that they can tell whether my information has come from a trustworthy source. teacher strategy is teacher provides relevant and useful examples related to the content, time management is they accomplish what needs to be done during the day. The effects of blended learning in terms of face-to-face learning are they prefer face-to-face learning because it helps me to understand the lesson very well and face-to-face instruction would be a better way for me to learn the content/course materials, digital or online learning are they have full-time access to materials that are available 24/7, modular distance learning helps them to have the freedom to choose which time I prefer to do and accomplish my modules.
The researchers find out that students during the pandemic preferred to have a face-to-face learning because it helps them to improve their academic performance. Also, students will give importance to time by being in school on time and effectively engaging in class and students will be able to interact with classmates more and have a positive outlook to finish their activities.
