Abstract

A water refilling station is an alternative source of drinking water supply in the Philippines. It is managed by private entrepreneurs. It offers a cheaper and more convenient solution to the public’s needs for drinking water than bottled water or the use of household filters. The researcher came up with this study to provide new services and products to satisfy the customers of water refilling stations. This business is a partnership type of business where the capital invested is distributed by the owners. This business is ownedby five partners, who decided to share Php 150,000.00, each withatotal capital of Php 750,000.00. The researchers considered the location at Holy Cross, San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City. The research method used was the descriptive method, which determines the viability and potential problems that can occur in developing the business idea. The researchers surveyed the respondentsby using 4Ps, that is, product, price, place, and promotion on 50 respondents composed of students, professionals, and residents inHoly Cross, San Bartolome, Novaliches, Quezon City. The researchers also utilized financial statementsin identifying the feasibility of the business and considered SWOT analysis. Results of this study showed that 62% of therespondentscan afford the price of Php 13–15 for 500 ml bottles of purified water in a water refilling station. Meanwhile, 38% of the respondents can buy a slim-type gallon at the price of Php 15–18, 78% of the respondents for Php 20, and 22% of the respondents for Php 25. For round-type gallon, 74% of the respondents had abudget of Php 20, and 26% of the respondents had abudget of Php 25. A total of 46% of the respondent preferred social media to find the service and product easily, while 24% of the respondents do not, 30% of the respondents answered sometimes, 42% of the respondents answered that they buy by texting or calling the water refilling station, and 26% of the respondents answered that they buy by messaging the water refilling station’s Facebook page while they are walk-incustomersis 32%. A total of 78% of the respondents answered that the source of drinking water comesfrom purified drinking water, 22% of the respondents drink tap water, and 0% of therespondentshavea water pump. A total of 44% of the respondents prefer a promotion in a water refilling station, 50% of the respondents want free 1 gallon for every purchase of a dozenof a gallon, and 6% of the respondents want a free 1,500 ml bottle for every dozen of bottled water. A total of 76% of the respondents also said that CAF Nonstop Water Refilling Station that is open for 24 hours may grow in the location, 24% of the respondents answered “maybe,” and 0% answered “no.” A total of 68% of the respondents give the effort to go and purchase water in the location, 32% of the respondents answered “sometimes,” and 0% answered “never.” A total of 42% of the respondents also experienced drinking water shortage in the middle watch because they cannot buy anywhere, 32% of the respondents answered “sometimes”, and 26% of the respondents answered “never.” The projected financial aspect of the business in its best scenario revealed that the return on investment will be achieved during the fourth year of the business and in the succeeding years. The average scenario revealed that the return on investment will be achieved during the fifth year of the business. If the business is well-positioned and managed, then it will continue to grow per year successfully. The business recommended promoting the business. The owner should also always seek a new trend that will help become a reliable water station to its target market. The owner should also improve the services and products that will maintain and retain the target customers of the water refilling station.
