In today's modern era, proficiency in the English language is a highly valuable skill in the global job market. However, many students, particularly those in higher education, face challenges in speaking English fluently due to limited vocabulary. This deficiency affects their academic performance in subjects such as linguistics, literature, translation, and language skills. Fortunately, various online resources are now available to aid vocabulary development, including grammar and spelling checkers, which are becoming increasingly popular among scholars and researchers. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of online grammar applications in enhancing the vocabulary of selected Grade 12 GAS students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. A quantitative method with a descriptive research design was employed, using random sampling. The study included 60 respondents, with 30 students from Section 1201 and 30 students from Section 1202. Slovin’s formula was used to determine the appropriate sample size. Findings indicate that most respondents were female, aged 15 to 19, and primarily used WiFi as their internet connection. The most commonly used online grammar tool was Grammarly. The results show that these applications improve reading comprehension, provide guidance on punctuation and cohesive writing, expand vocabulary, and enhance self-expression. However, some respondents struggled with vocabulary retention, often forgetting correct word usage. Despite this, the majority demonstrated long-term memory retention by focusing on sentence structure, which supports vocabulary development. This study concludes that online grammar applications are effective in enhancing vocabulary and improving reading, writing, and speaking skills. Additionally, these tools aid students in vocabulary retention, contributing to overall language proficiency.
