Abstract

Facebook has become a more integral part of third-year English majors' lives. influencing their professional growth, ethical communication, and educational experiences. This study will investigate the ways in which social media platforms, Facebook in particular, affect their educational experiences, examine the effects on their professional growth, and evaluate how social media platforms influence the third-year English majors' ethical communication. This research used a quantitative descriptive correlational design. A correlational research design looks at the relationships between variables without altering any of them. A correlation shows the strength and/or direction of the relationship between variables. The study's respondents are the selected third-year English majors at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The researchers used basic random sampling, in which each person is selected at random, to make generalizations about a certain group while removing any bias from such statements. The survey questionnaire was the primary tool used in the study to collect data. According to the findings, Facebook has a number of issues that undermine moral communication. Based on the study's findings, it is clear that most third-year English majors have experienced ethical communication violations on Facebook. The results also demonstrated that the need to communicate had an impact on Facebook usage. It is also suggested that a number of factors could influence the respondents' choice of Facebook usage. Facebook was employed to enhance and fortify existing ties in the real world. The researchers have concluded that there is a correlation between Facebook use and ethical communication. In light of this, they have put forth guidelines and recommendations that will encourage a more trustworthy, courteous, and ethical Facebook communication environment while encouraging positive and healthy interactions among all users.
