Abstract

For centuries, traditional medicine has whispered the secrets of nature's bounty, offering solace and healing for various ailments. Among these hidden gems lies the malunggay (Moringa oleifera), a humble tree with immense potential, particularly in the realm of wound healing. This research delves into the intriguing world of malunggay leaf extract as a wound-drying ointment, unveiling the scientific rationale behind its potential to revolutionize modern healthcare. The researchers plan to recruit two groups of participants: 5 dermatologists and 5 chemical engineers. They will be presented with a questionnaire to assess their perception of the acceptability of the malunggay leaf extract as a wound-drying ointment. The questionnaire will likely cover aspects like ingredients used, formulation process, ease of use, expected relief duration, and presentation. The chosen respondents have to be dermatologists and chemical engineers. Dermatologists account for 60% of the responses, while chemical engineers account for 40%. The areas of their examinations are responded to as follows: 40% from the Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination, while the Diplomate Board Examination received 30% of the responses, and the Philippine Medical Board Examination also received 30% of the responses. Throughout the research, the researchers have found the best solution for how it may be introduced to the global market, especially from the perspective of these professionals. This research aims to introduce and provide specific data that may support the use of malunggay (Moringa oleifera) as an ointment, focusing on its potential success in treating rashes or skin allergies in specific individuals. In conclusion, the journey to unveil the true potential of malunggay leaves as a wound-drying ointment is far from over. However, the existing evidence paints a captivating picture, beckoning further exploration and development. As we delve deeper into this natural treasure, we might just unlock a new chapter in wound healing, offering a safe, affordable, and accessible solution for millions grappling with chronic wounds and fulfilling the legacy of healing whispered by the leaves for centuries.
