Abstract

This research seeks to fill a gap in the existing literature by assessing the motivating factors influencing AIS students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. The aim of this research is to identify and understand the drivers of academic excellence and career readiness, focusing on the factors influencing the career motivation of accounting information systems students in their academic performance. This includes understanding whether students are drawn to accounting due to its prestige, financial rewards, career prospects, personal interests, or other factors. The study utilized a descriptive research method involving fifty (50) accounting information systems students from Bestlink College of the Philippines. The results of this study reveal that the majority of the respondents are 22-25 years old, female, and 4th-year students. The respondents rated the motivating factors as "Agree" for Intrinsic Motivation, Extrinsic Motivation, and Social Motivation, and "Slightly Agree" for Normative Motivation. The challenges encountered by the respondents include late submission of projects and activities, low grades on exams, and a lack of concentration and motivation. Additionally, there is a recommendation to enhance the career motivation of accounting information systems students. This study recommends that Bestlink College of the Philippines continue to offer career opportunities to Accounting Information Systems students, as it can motivate them to choose the type of job they want in the future, such as an internship opportunity or a training program that helps Accounting Information Systems students excel in their careers.
