ROLE OF IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAM AS A TOOL FOR THE TEACHER’S PERFORMANCE IN BESTLINK COLLEGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

The purpose of the study is to assess the role of the in-service training program as a tool for improving teacher performance at Bestlink College of the Philippines. Aligned with the school’s dedication to providing quality education, there is a recognition of the importance of continuous professional development for its faculty members. In-service training programs are organized every first semester to equip teachers with updated skills and knowledge, ensuring their effectiveness in the dynamic field of education. The study utilizes a descriptive-correlational research design, gathering data from one hundred fifty (150) full-time teachers selected through stratified sampling at Bestlink College of the Philippines in Quezon City for the period from August 2023 to April 2024. Data collection is conducted through the distribution of a survey questionnaire. The study findings reveal that a significant proportion of respondents hold master's degrees (48.67%) and have 1–3 years of service (50.67%). The in-service training program received notably high weighted mean scores across various indicators, indicating its effectiveness in areas such as delivering subject content and enhancing teacher-student learning. With a composite mean score of 4.41, teachers strongly endorse the program, highlighting its significance in enhancing teacher performance at Bestlink College of the Philippines. Furthermore, the study identifies a positive perception of the in-service training program among teachers. The overall composite mean score of 4.28 underscores the widespread endorsement of the program's effectiveness. There is a significant relationship between the contribution of the in-service training program to teacher performance and teachers' views on the program. The proposed training program targets identified areas for improvement, such as enhancing teachers' knowledge and skills, as well as improving their time management. In conclusion, the study emphasizes the crucial role of the in-service training program in enhancing teacher performance at Bestlink College of the Philippines. By implementing the proposed training program, the school can enhance teachers' knowledge and skills, improve their time management, and ultimately elevate teacher performance.
