Abstract

Public markets are essential hubs of local economies, facilitating the flow of goods and services while fostering community connections. However, traditional management practices present several challenges, such as inefficient vendor management, complex payment processing, and inadequate accessibility for persons with disabilities. These issues hinder the full potential of public markets. To address these concerns, this study proposes the Public Markets with Vendors Management and Accessibility Integration System (PMVAIS) as an innovative solution. The Agile Methodology was employed in the development of PMVAIS. The process included requirement gathering, system design, development, and pilot testing. Researchers collaborated with pilot companies in various market areas to gain critical insights into vendor management and market operations. Regular feedback loops through interviews with market representatives allowed for continuous system improvements, ensuring that PMVAIS aligned with user needs and adapted to evolving market conditions. The implementation of PMVAIS yielded positive results, with pilot companies reporting significant improvements in vendor management, payment processing, and accessibility. User feedback highlighted high satisfaction with the system’s usability and functionality. Key features, such as vendor profiles, online payment processing, and accessibility enhancements, contributed to more efficient market operations and better service for stakeholders. The development and evaluation of PMVAIS emphasize the role of technology in modernizing market management and improving accessibility. By integrating innovative solutions and collaborating with pilot companies, PMVAIS addresses longstanding market challenges and promotes inclusivity within local communities. Future efforts will focus on expanding the system to additional markets, refining its features based on user feedback, and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and regulations.
