This study examines the preparedness of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students at Bestlink College of the Philippines for tertiary education, focusing on the challenges they face, including financial difficulties, personal management, academic responsibilities, and social commitments. The study explores cognitive understanding, a learning theory that encourages students to reflect on their thinking to grasp challenging concepts. It highlights the potential of this theory to enhance engagement and motivation while helping educators implement it effectively. Furthermore, the study investigates financial concerns, course availability, career assessment, the benefits of preparation for tertiary education, essential skills, abilities, and decision-making processes. It also proposes an action plan to provide students with advanced learning opportunities and discusses academic readiness, social adjustment, expectations, and available support systems to facilitate their transition to college and employment. This study includes research design, sampling technique, respondents, research instruments, instrument construction and validation, data collection, and statistical treatment. A quantitative observational approach was deemed appropriate, allowing researchers to collect data based on their observations of respondents' behaviors and characteristics in their natural context. This method enabled objective data gathering, primarily centered on numerical values and statistical analysis. A simple random sampling technique was used in this study. With approval from their research adviser, the researchers distributed survey questionnaires to 150 Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students at Bestlink College of the Philippines. This study aims to help Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science students take proactive steps to prepare for college, ensuring they are ready and well-equipped for success. It highlights the essential knowledge, skills, and resources students need to navigate the college environment and achieve their academic and career goals.
