Abstract

This study investigates the influence of motivation on employee retention at Vertere Global Solutions, Inc., Makati, through an online survey. The objective is to assess the key motivational factors affecting employee retention and identify challenges encountered by employees. The findings aim to provide insights for HR departments to enhance retention strategies. The study employed a descriptive research method and used a simple random sampling technique, involving 89 employees. Data were collected through survey questionnaires as the primary instrument. Results show that 65% of regular employees are female. The most common age groups are 26-30 years old and 31-35 years old, each comprising 25% of the respondents. Additionally, 27% of employees earn a monthly salary of ₱30,001 and above, with 29% having a length of service of 0-1 or 2-3 years. Analysis reveals that all motivational factors, including compensation and leadership, are perceived as "Very Influential" in employee retention, with an overall mean of 3.42. Employee promotion received the highest weighted mean of 3.50, followed by recognition and rewards at 3.49. The most frequently reported challenges to retention include uncertainty about job stability (37 responses), excessive workload (28 responses), and emotional exhaustion (26 responses). The f-test analysis yielded a p-value of 0.2223, exceeding the 0.05 significance level, indicating no significant difference among the motivational influences on employee retention concerning the cited variables. The study highlights the critical role of motivation in employee retention, with promotion identified as the most influential factor. Based on the findings, HR departments should implement retention strategies such as career development programs, transparent promotion pathways, regular salary adjustments, and formal recognition initiatives. The proposed enhanced employee promotion program offers valuable insights for the HR Department of Vertere Global Solutions, Inc.
