Abstract

This study provides comprehensive insights into employee demographics, promotion factors, and the significance of employee promotion within the Quezon City Planning and Development Office. A descriptive research design, along with simple random sampling techniques, was used in this study involving 95 employees of the Quezon City Planning and Development Office. The findings reveal a near-equal representation of male and female, with males accounting 50.53% and females for 49.47% of the total sample, with a diverse age distribution of 26.32% of them were ranging from 18 to 25 years old, while 34.74% ranging from 26 to 35 years old highlighted the presence of younger individuals within the workforce. Furthermore, 71.58% of employees’ positions were Rank and File and 74.74% attain College Level of education with a 1 to 3 years length of service, which accounted for 64.21%. The analysis revealed that all factors considered, from seniority to work experience are perceived as “Strongly Agree” in employee promotion within the organization, with an overall mean of 3.33. By emphasizing these findings, the study underscores the importance of addressing key factors as seniority and work experience to cultivate a supportive work environment conducive to employee retention, employee motivation, and personal growth. Notably, employee motivation received the highest mean score of 3.53, perceived as “Strongly Agree”. In conclusion, the study suggests that employee promotion serves as a potent motivator, providing workers a clear pathway for advancement and a tangible sense of achievement in their work. Organizations can capitalize on this by offering opportunities for growth and development, thereby encouraging employees to actively engage in their careers and make meaningful contributions to the accomplishment of corporate objectives. In summary, the insights gleaned from this study serve as a valuable roadmap for organizations seeking to optimize their promotion practices and foster a culture of inclusivity, fairness, and employee engagement within the Quezon City Planning and Development Office.
