Abstract

In the realm of education, understanding academic habits and strategies is crucial for enhancing learning outcomes. This study focuses on Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences students at Bestlink College of the Philippines who achieved honors. DepEd Order No. 18, s. 2020, required that learners independently complete their learning tasks at home due to the severe limitations imposed by the pandemic. This study examines how these students focus on their study habits and learning outcomes. Their academic success sets them apart from their peers, as they can share knowledge with classmates who have faced academic challenges. For the honor students, academic success is both a goal and a challenge, motivating them to understand the habits and strategies that lead to their studies' achievements. The study explores the academic behaviors and approaches employed by these honor students, who are recognized for their outstanding performance at Bestlink College of the Philippines. This study utilized a descriptive research design and quantitative research method. The target respondents for this study are thirty (30) honor students who can respond to our survey questionnaire. We are using purposive sampling technique, and the participants are selected by the researchers. According to the results, the respondents strongly agree that the academic habits and strategies of honor students can be described in terms of time management, skill techniques, and competitiveness. Additionally, the results indicate that these academic habits and strategies are advantageous for enhancing problem-solving, communication, and creativity skills, which were also strongly agreed upon by the respondents. The discussion summarizes the academic habits and strategies of Grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences Honor students. The recommendation was provided by the researchers regarding the habits and strategies of honor students.
