Abstract

This article explores the connection between modern tourism, environmental sustainability, and green chemistry, with a focus on the ecological sustainability of Pulilan Butterfly Haven Resort in the Philippines. It highlights how tourism contributes to various environmental issues, including air pollution, noise, and waste generation. The article emphasizes the importance of incorporating green chemistry principles into tourism operations to mitigate these negative impacts. By doing so, the tourism industry can contribute to environmental protection and ensure a sustainable future for both current and future generations. Researchers have created a booklet that explains the concept of electro-culture in garden development. Electro-culture is an experimental agricultural technique that involves applying a low-voltage electric current to plants and soil, stimulating plant metabolism and increasing nutrient uptake to enhance growth and crop yields. While controversial, this technology could offer benefits not only to agriculture but also to the conservation of butterfly populations and the prevention of ecological crises. This study surveyed primarily young male respondents, aged 17 to 30, to gather their perceptions of local resorts. The findings revealed that most respondents were single and recognized the resort's efforts to enhance local skills through educational programs and contribute to community well-being by increasing property values. Respondents also acknowledged the resort's active involvement in environmental initiatives, its positive impact on the local economy through job creation, and its alignment with Sustainable Development Goals, such as Life on Land and Climate Action. However, they observed a discrepancy between the expected and actual number of butterflies at the resort during the survey period. this study underscores the positive contributions of Pulilan Butterfly Garden Resort to the local community and environment, along with its alignment with key sustainable development goals. The findings provide valuable insights that can help shape the resort’s future strategies, ensuring it continues to positively impact both the community and the environment while offering an enriching experience for visitors. However, the study also revealed a significant concern: the limited number of butterflies at the resort, highlighting an area that requires attention and improveme
