ANTI-THEFT DIGITAL DOOR LOCK WITH SMS NOTIFICATION ALERT

Abstract

One of the common problems with traditional door locks is the potential for key-related issues. You can easily misplace or lose your keys, which can be both frustrating and inconvenient. Additionally, if you have multiple family members or employees who need access, you might need to duplicate keys, increasing the risk of unauthorized copies falling into the wrong hands. An anti-theft digital door lock with an SMS notification alert is an innovative and advanced security solution designed to provide enhanced protection for your home or office. Instead of using physical keys, you can use a personalized PIN code. Utilizing a descriptive quantitative research design, the study engaged five (5) computer engineers and five (5) locksmiths through purposive sampling. This study used a survey questionnaire as the research instrument for data collection. The results of this study, in terms of material used, reliability, durability, ease of use, and presentation, show that both computer engineers and locksmiths strongly agree on their assessments. The computer engineers obtained an overall weighted mean of 3.66, while the locksmiths had a weighted mean of 3.65. This indicates that there is no significant difference between the two groups of respondents in terms of material used, reliability, durability, ease of use, and presentation. The variance was 0.01875 for computer engineers and 0.4575 for locksmiths. The t-critical value is 2.306, and the t-computed value is 0.880. Therefore, the null hypothesis is accepted. For further enhancement and improvement of the product, the following are the suggestions and recommendations given by the computer engineers and locksmiths: make a code that can reset the pin in the number pad; seek professional assistance for the coding and wood cutting; and prepare the proper measurements before cutting the wood.
