Abstract

This study explores the impact of the Road Clearing Operation Program on traffic flow in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City. Road clearing operations play a critical role in eliminating road obstructions, thereby reducing traffic congestion, minimizing accidents, and facilitating efficient disaster response. The study integrates theoretical and conceptual frameworks to understand the long-term implications of these operations. It also aims to educate future law enforcement officers on the environmental and logistical significance of road clearing while promoting public awareness of responsible development practices. As roads serve as essential components of transportation networks, maintaining clear roadways is crucial to supporting the mobility of people, goods, and services. A quantitative research approach was employed using a descriptive research design. This design was selected to provide a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon being studied. Data were collected through structured surveys to evaluate public perception and assess the program's effectiveness in improving road conditions and traffic management in the community. The implementation of the road clearing operation program in Barangay Batasan Hills led to notable improvements in road conditions and traffic flow. Public awareness regarding safe driving practices and the importance of avoiding road obstructions was also enhanced. The program recorded an overall composite mean of 3.30 in terms of road condition and traffic improvement, with the highest individual item scoring a mean of 3.38. Additionally, the assignment of traffic officers in specific areas contributed to accident reduction and smoother vehicular movement. Despite these successes, the program faced several challenges, including limited resources, a small respondent sample, and factors that may limit the overall impact and sustainability of the program. The Road Clearing Operation Program in Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City, has contributed to notable improvements in road conditions and traffic flow. The program effectively raises public awareness on safe driving practices and the importance of avoiding road obstructions, reflected in a mean score of 3.30. The overall composite mean for road condition and improvement is 3.30, with the highest recorded mean at 3.38. In addition, the program seeks to reduce accidents by deploying officers in each area to maintain proper traffic flow. Despite these achievements, challenges such as limited resources, low sample size, and specific situational factors affect its overall effectiveness. The program’s impact on improving traffic flow is rated at a mean of 3.30, with the highest mean recorded at 3.40.
