Abstract

In the 21st century, digital literacy is a foundational skill—necessary not just to achieve academic success but also to navigate the challenges of a fast-changing global work environment. The ability to efficiently use computer technology and web-based creation tools is no longer an added value but a basic prerequisite for those wanting to engage fully with contemporary society. This is especially true for students intending to pursue further education or professional careers. This study focuses on evaluating the computer skills of Grade 12 students, specifically in using online creation tools such as Google Docs, Google Forms, and Google Spreadsheets. In response to the growing importance of digital competencies in academic and professional settings, the research assessed students’ strengths, weaknesses, and skill gaps through structured quantitative methods, including surveys and comparative analysis across various demographic and academic groups. The findings aim to inform educators about current proficiency levels, identify influencing factors such as access and prior experience, and suggest strategies for integrating digital tools effectively into the curriculum. By enhancing students’ digital literacy and creativity, the study contributes to preparing learners for the demands of a technology-driven society and supports the development of equitable, evidence-based educational interventions.
