The growing demand for efficient human resource operations in the merchandising sector highlights the need for intelligent digital solutions. The Merchandising Management System: HR3 was developed to address common challenges such as fragmented employee records, lack of succession readiness, and unsecured document storage. This system integrates a centralized HR information module, succession planning tools, and a secure document depot with automated data entry, aiming to improve data accuracy, accessibility, and security within retail operations. The system was built using the Laravel PHP framework for backend development and Tailwind CSS for frontend responsiveness. Key modules included centralized employee records, succession planning, and encrypted document storage. The automated data entry feature utilized dynamic form generation and real-time validation logic to ensure input accuracy and reduce manual errors. Usability and performance testing were conducted with HR staff from a merchandising company to evaluate system reliability, user accessibility, and overall effectiveness. The implementation of the system successfully eliminated reliance on spreadsheets and disorganized files, replacing them with structured digital records. HR personnel reported improved accuracy in employee documentation, more efficient access to important files, and enhanced tracking of qualified successors for key positions. Automated data entry significantly reduced manual workload and input errors. The document depot maintained compliance with data privacy standards, ensuring secure handling of sensitive information. The integration of centralized employee records, succession planning, and secure documentation with automation capabilities greatly improved HR operational workflows. The system enabled faster, more accurate HR processes and supported data-driven decision-making in workforce planning. Additionally, automation and secure digital storage reduced the risk of human error and ensured better compliance with regulatory standards compared to traditional paper-based or spreadsheet-based systems.
