Abstract

The research titled "Development of an Efficient Point of Sale (POS) Management System for CAFE 25TH" aims to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction through the implementation of a modern, streamlined POS solution. The system is designed to expedite transaction processing, ensuring faster service delivery and minimizing customer wait times. It promotes accuracy in pricing, reduces human errors, and enables real-time inventory tracking to prevent shortages or overstocking. Ultimately, this POS system supports better business decision-making and a smoother retail experience. The development of this project adhered to a systematic System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). It began with the planning stage, where the research title was finalized, client interviews were conducted to gather initial insights, and the foundational documentation was prepared. In the analysis phase, relevant studies were reviewed, and detailed consultations were held to define the system’s functional and non-functional requirements.  The development phase utilized Java NetBeans for coding the system, MySQL for database management, and XAMPP as the local server environment. Project documentation was created using Microsoft Word. The system’s user interface design was inspired by the UI/UX standards of platforms like Google and Pinterest, ensuring it was intuitive and user-friendly.  The testing phase involved rigorous debugging, functional validation, and code reviews to ensure system reliability and efficiency. In the implementation phase, the system was deployed following successful testing. Finally, the maintenance phase emphasized continuous performance monitoring, updates, and security enhancements to ensure long-term stability and usability. The system achieved substantial operational enhancements by addressing key inefficiencies. It optimized the checkout process, significantly reducing customer wait times through an intuitive and responsive order menu dashboard. Moreover, the integration of automated sales reporting ensured accurate, real-time summaries of all transactions. This not only enhanced financial tracking but also empowered management with data-driven insights for more informed and strategic decision-making. Cafe 25th encountered difficulties in handling transaction reports, managing the checkout process efficiently, and reducing human errors caused by manual computations. To resolve these challenges, the researchers developed a Point of Sale (POS) Management System aimed at optimizing operational efficiency. The system is designed to deliver faster and more accurate transactions, enhance the overall customer experience, and improve productivity through automated sales reporting and precise computation features.
