EXPLORING THE CAPABILITIES OF POLICE STATION 6 PERSONNEL IN CRIME PREVENTION

This study explores the capabilities of Police Station 6 personnel in implementing crime prevention strategies. Crime prevention remains a primary concern for law enforcement agencies worldwide, and the efficiency of police personnel plays a vital role in ensuring public safety. Police Station 6, as an integral part of the local security structure, is responsible not only for responding to criminal incidents but also for proactively reducing their occurrence. This study aims to assess the preparedness, resources, and strategies utilized by the personnel, focusing on training, community engagement, technological tools, and inter-agency collaboration to identify both strengths and challenges in crime prevention efforts. The study adopts a quantitative research method to evaluate the crime prevention capabilities of Police Station 6 personnel. The respondents include 20 police personnel and 20 barangay officials, totaling 40 participants. Data were collected using a structured survey questionnaire, with strict confidentiality maintained throughout the process. Permissions were secured from the head of Police Station 6 and the Barangay Captain prior to data collection. The demographic profile of the respondents showed that 27.5% were aged 18–24, 22.5% were 25–34, and 35% were between 35–44 years old. The remaining 7.5% each belonged to the 45–54 and 55 years and above age brackets. These results reflect a diverse range of experience and perspectives among the respondents. However, additional analysis of their capabilities in relation to crime prevention strategies remains necessary to determine the operational readiness and effectiveness of Police Station 6 personnel. This study provides insights into the current crime prevention strategies employed by Police Station 6 and offers practical recommendations to improve law enforcement efficiency. By examining the strengths and weaknesses of existing practices, the research highlights how personnel can better engage in proactive crime prevention efforts. Emphasis is placed on enhancing training, technology use, and community collaboration to promote safer neighborhoods and strengthen public trust in the local police force.
