Abstract

This research investigates the factors that impact the adoption of mobile technologies in corporate environments, grounded in the Diffusion of Innovation Theory. It focuses on five critical attributes: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability, to better understand how organizations can effectively implement mobile solutions. The study aims to provide strategic recommendations that support successful digital transformation initiatives. This research utilized a quantitative design, employing a structured survey questionnaire as the primary tool for data collection. The study involved 20 professionals from System Corporation who frequently use mobile technologies in their daily work. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with relevant experience in mobile systems and accounting information systems. Statistical analyses, including weighted mean, percentage distribution, ranking, and the Kruskal-Wallis test, were conducted to examine the relationships between respondents’ demographic characteristics and factors affecting mobile technology adoption. The questionnaire was validated through expert review and pilot testing to ensure its reliability and validity prior to the main study. The majority of respondents aged 18 to 25 use laptops and smartphones to access data. Mobile technology improves work productivity and efficiency, is compatible with current software, and is user-friendly. However, challenges include inadequate internet connections and slow adoption rates among workers. Additionally, no correlation was found between demographic factors and the determinants of adoption. The findings confirm that the Diffusion of Innovation Theory effectively explains the adoption of mobile technology. The key factors driving this adoption were perceived relative advantage and simplicity. Testing technologies before their complete implementation provided helpful reassurance, while observing the benefits contributed to greater acceptance. However, significant challenges arose from infrastructure issues, such as slow internet speeds and inadequate training, which hindered full adoption. The study highlights that for mobile technologies to be successfully integrated, organizations must address technical constraints and provide ongoing support to users.
