Abstract

The School Management System: A Web-Based and Mobile Voting System with Student Evaluation was designed to modernize the voting process and improve the collection of student feedback at Bestlink College of the Philippines. Existing manual methods were often inefficient, error-prone, and lacked adequate security, underscoring the need for a more dependable and accessible solution. This project introduces an integrated digital platform that enables both web-based and mobile voting, along with a student evaluation feature streamlining participation, enhancing data accuracy, and supporting more informed decision-making for the institution. The system was developed using the Agile Scrum Methodology, allowing for iterative development and continuous user feedback throughout the project lifecycle. Flutter (Dart) was used for the mobile frontend, while PHP handled the backend API development, with MySQL serving as the database. Integration with the Registrar System API ensured seamless synchronization of user data across platforms. To safeguard user credentials, session-based authentication was implemented. Version control and team collaboration were managed through GitHub. The system was designed to be scalable, responsive, and capable of efficiently handling high traffic volumes. The system's implementation greatly improved voting efficiency reduced manual errors, and increased student participation. The mobile application offered a convenient, user-friendly interface, allowing students to vote anytime and anywhere. Meanwhile, the web-based platform provided administrators with real-time monitoring and control. The student evaluation feature enabled the structured collection of feedback, supporting more informed academic and administrative decisions. Performance testing confirmed the system’s ability to manage high traffic, ensuring accurate, real-time vote tallying and maintaining data integrity. The system enhanced the efficiency of the voting process, minimized human error, and increased student participation. The mobile application offered a convenient way for students to vote anytime and anywhere, while the web interface provided administrators with comprehensive control and real-time monitoring. The student evaluation feature enabled the collection of structured feedback, aiding faculty and staff in making data-driven decisions. Performance testing confirmed the system’s capacity to manage high traffic volumes without compromising real-time vote tallying or data integrity.
