Efficacy of Educational Tours and Seminars as Learning Tools to the Students of Bestlink College of the Philippines

Abstract

The educational tour or field trip is a visit to a place away from their normal place of study. The purpose of this trip is to provide students with an experience outside the classroom or labs. The College of Hotel and Restaurant Management curriculum includes educational tours that are quite important to the students, particularly student travelers.

This study was conducted using both descriptive and quantitative methods. The study utilizes one hundred (100) students from the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management of bestlink College of the Philippines. The researcher used simple random sampling based on the requirements set on the choice of the respondent.to define factors and indicators to be used in developing the study idea and framework, the researcher developed questions utilizing the probabilities sampling and items from the draft questionnaire; based on the key statement of the study topic, the researcher used the mathematical and statistical tools in order to interpret the gathered data from the survey questionnaire responses

The findings indicate that 54% of the respondents are between the ages of 21 and 25. Male respondents make up 62% of the sample, while third-year respondents make up 36%. The respondents rate the usefulness of educational tours and seminars and tours for BSHM students with an overall mean score of 3.52, interpreted as strongly agree in order for many students to learn during the seminars the tours and seminars.

Students should be urged to attend school tours and seminars in order to acquire the information and abilities needed to practice socializing and increase their self-confidence. Future researchers must continue to do research related to the hospitality industry not only for them to gain knowledge and discover new things but also for other students and future researchers to be introduced to the world of service. They should encourage students to participate in tours and seminars. School administrators. In order to persuade them to join the tours and seminars, they should reduce the actual cost and offer at least an initial payment or monthly installments for those students who want to participate but are financially unable to do so.
