Abstract

The logistics management system is a system that deals with the movement and
management of a supply in a company. The Bestlink College of the Philippines does not
currently have a logistics department; this has been posted as both a problem and an
opportunity for the team. An opportunity for creating one as, at the moment, the process for
procurement and delivery of items for the school was held out by the property custodian. If a
logistics department were to be implemented for the company, the workload for the other
department would be lessened, and the process would be executed properly. However, this
has also become one of the problems of the team as we are tasked to create a system out of
scratch. The study of logistics applied in an educational institution is not something you can
find easily on the net, and most schools nearby don’t also implement logistics. They are either
bestowing the process to another department that deals with the management of their
company's assets.

Implementing the logistics subsystem will make the school’s process be more efficient in
terms of property handling and stock procurement and storing. This will improve the current
existing system of handling items and records of inventory as stocks will be handled more
carefully with the combined help of the property custodian in managing requests for item
distribution and procurement.

By having a logistics management system, the school will improve its procurement capabilities
and stock handling. But before the actual implementation, the team studied the basics and
fundamentals of logistics and applied them in an educational institution by following agile
methodology, accomplishing the creation of a working system that can be used for better
performance of the school’s stock handling. Tests show that the system will work as intended
by the team but still allow for room for improvement. During the development of the system,
sprints were done, and testing of every feature was sure to work as planned.
