Abstract

Nowadays, people use camote as a basic staple food and as the main ingredient in a
merienda or snack in the Philippines. Camote is one of the most extensively grown crops in
the Philippines, popularly known as sweet potato and known as huge, starchy, sweet-tasting
tuberous roots used as a root vegetable known as kakanin, which has slightly dry, bland,
yellowish to white flesh. Sweet potatoes come in a variety of colors and sizes and are rich in
fiber, antioxidants, minerals, and multivitamins. Although sweet potatoes are delicious as well,
eating them frequently may not be healthy due to their high fat content. Donuts are fried
snacks made from a mixture of flour, sugar, egg yolks, yeast, and butter. This is served in a
variety of ways as a sweet snack that can be made at home or purchased at bakeries,
supermarkets, food stalls, and franchised specialized retailers.

According to the findings, using camote as one of the major ingredients to make the product
meet expectations. The respondent’s evaluation as a predicted variable has no significance
for the results. To make it sweeter, mix in additional sugar, and to make the texture crispier,
coat in breadcrumbs. Respondents assessed the acceptability of the product in terms of
appearance, quality, evaluation as very satisfied, texture, and taste as satisfied.

In this study, the researchers discussed the acceptability of camote donuts. The respondents
were satisfied with the camote donut taste, and this product provides mouth-watering
satisfaction to the respondents without sacrificing their health. However, a very small
percentage of the respondents stated that they were unsatisfied with the product. The
researcher will put in a lot of effort to improve our skills in conducting this study as well as
producing the product.
