Challenges Encountered by the BSHM Working Students of BCP Towards Academic Performance

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the challenges encountered by the BSHM working
students of Bestlink College of the Philippines in terms of academic performance. There are
many reasons why students choose to work; in fact, being a working student is not easy
compared to being a regular student. Being a working student is a choice; they just want to
lessen the continuously increasing educational fees in their school.

Based on the findings of the study, third-year BSHM students make up the majority of the
working students. There is no significant relationship between the challenges encountered by
the working students and their academic performance at BSHM working students. According
to the data in terms of gender, females make up the majority of working students between the
ages of 21 and 25 in BSHM. In addition, most of the respondents work between 1 and 6 hours
a day.

The researchers recommend to our respondents that they use this as a guide or reference to
collect the information that is related to this topic and to apply as scholars at Bestlink College
of the Philippines. And give them a flexible school schedule. In addition, provide a simple
checklist that includes scheduling in school and working hours for them to manage it properly.
This study recommends to every working student that they must continue studying even if they
have a job and are maintaining good grades. It inspires everyone to continue despite all the
challenges and struggles encountered.
