The purpose of this study is to determine the cause and effect of violence against women in
Barangay 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, in terms of physical, emotional, and mental.
Violence against women is a widespread societal issue present in different regions of the
world. Despite the different countries’ implementation of laws and campaigns, cases of
women abuse are constantly on the rise.
The results of this study reveal the effects of violence against women in Barangay 176 Bagong
Silang, Caloocan City, in terms of Physical and physical weakness after the subjected
violence. Emotional women may experience questioning their role within a relationship.
Mental, higher rates of psychiatric problems, attempted suicide, and alcohol dependence. The
problems that encountered by the respondents are there are no conducted seminars in any
part of the barangay to impart knowledge to prevent violence, they are afraid to continue
complaining about the violence they experienced, and no moral and financial support is
obtained from expected people. The solutions that may be offered by the respondents are
seminars about R.A 9262 and VAWC. The actions taken by the appointed Barangay officials
to address the problem of violence against women at Barangay 176 Bagong Silang, Caloocan
City, include quick access to Hotline numbers assisting complaints.
The researcher respectfully recommends the following: Have appropriate family planning to
educate and learn about the parents and their children. Barangay officials must give women
an opportunity to participate in any community activities and development. Barangay 176
must implement programs to support the victim-survivors through proper medication and
compensation, learning new skills that will be used in work to support their family financially.
The solutions must conduct seminars about VAWC, and barangay officials must have training
and guidelines for the implementation of VAWC. In addition, the barangay must be
strengthened to provide holistic protection and support for the victim-survivors. Maintaining
the availability of Hotline numbers for quick access.
