Abstract

Home security and safety are necessary. That’s why door locks were made; however, a high-
security door lock system is still needed in today’s society. This study focused on improving
the smart door lock with a facial recognition door lock system with an added fingerprint
scanner and disinfectant to aid people's needs in terms of home security and health safety.

The results present the precise prototype’s design, control system, and circuit connection. The
Arduino Uno microcontroller, ESP32 cam, R307 fingerprint scanner, IR sensor, and all
hardware components were programmed using the Arduino IDE software. The results of
testing the prototype’s speed when enrolling face and fingerprint was 15.13 seconds, while
when accessing the door lock, it resulted in 10.97 seconds. There's no delay when changing
of the prototype’s main power supply to emergency batteries. The emergency power supply
tested from the batteries fully charged up to drained and shows that at approximately 1 hour
run time, the system can be accessed to its full potential; however, when the batteries run time
at 2 hours, high supply voltage components can't operate well. The perception of the
respondents was gathered through a given survey questionnaire that was separated into two
parts. First, the demographic profile of the respondents was presented using a pie graph. The
second part was the given ten indicators, which were presented using a line graph.

The automatic door lock system prototype is sensor-based. The technologies used were
compatible with the microcontroller used and showed success in the operation of the
prototype. The evaluation of the survey shows that respondents agree with the prototype.
According to the findings, The implementation of the Automated door lock system with facial
recognition, fingerprint scanner, and disinfectant using Arduino as a microcontroller was
functional.
