Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the TikTok application in terms of tourists' travel planning to advise local businesses and tourism marketing.

This research is quantitative. The researchers also used the descriptive research method to establish only associations between variables. This research study selected a sample of one hundred (100) TikTok users and travelers circulating through social media to describe their perspectives using a survey form given to them. The survey questions correspond to the effectiveness of the TikTok application in travel planning. The researchers used statistical tools to evaluate the data gathered, including frequency and percentage, weighted mean, and the Likert scale, to force the respondent not to choose a middle point in answering the survey questionnaire.

All respondents strongly agree that the TikTok application effectively recommends and suggests tourist destinations that suit their preferences and ideal vacations. Additionally, the TikTok application educates tourists about start-up local businesses accessible around their residences, directly boosting and expanding the local tourism market. As a result, tourists can make their travel plans more efficient and convenient while contributing to the country's economic growth.
