Abstract

Due to Covid 19 it has a lot of changes in educational system. As a command of President Rodrigo Duterte and the response of Department of Health they suspend the face-to-face classes due to Lockdowns, schools have been promptly locked in personal transaction and students curricular Activities. As a result, the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) and Department of Education (DepEd) must change and build realistic learning platform which are the online and modular Modalities. This study wants to compare the effectiveness of online and modular in study class. We attempt to see if the students’ performance and achievements was affected by the instructional medium. This study sought to compare online and modular study on three level pure modality, gender, class rank. Through these comparisons we investigate which modality was significantly more effective in getting the achievement of the students.

This study set out to compare the academic achievement of online and modular students. A purposive sample of 60 Criminology students from both online and modular will be used. Using our research made questionnaire samples academic achievement based on Learning Management System (LMS) activities and major exams will be obtained and compared in terms of the chosen modality. The result of this study will be used to inform programs and school policies that will help to improve students’ academic achievements.

The researchers utilized the descriptive method in determining the comparing of the Academic Achievement of Online and modular students at Bestlink College of the Philippines, S.Y 2022-2023. Purposive general weighted average who are from 3rd year for a total of 60 respondent, 30 for Online modality and 30 for Modular modality.

Result of this study showed that the Online Modality is the highest of that survey together with the help of member of Classmate, Professor, and school. Data gathered showed that 30 respondents for Online Modality has the total of 1.9 and the 30 respondents for Modular modality has the total of 1.8

The online academic achievement of Online is highest percentage for Modality, together with the help of members professor and school. Even the learning has modular, the online must be the highest percentage. The findings of this study are utilized to identify the Academic Achievement of Online and Modular students: A comparative study. For students to make some solutions both Comparing of online and modular modality. The main purpose is to make ways of how compare of both modality which are Online and Modular students at Criminology department
