Challenges, Successes, and Opportunities among of BSED Mathematics Major Students in the New Normal

Abstract

During the Coronavirus illness (COVID-19) pandemic, there is a lot of things happened, and still happening. The respondents discovered the challenges that they encountered in online learning in mathematics. Lack of an internet connection is the most challenging for respondents because an internet connection is commonly used in the new normal during online classes. The researchers want to know if the successes and the opportunities of the students can improve despite having a lot of challenges that therespondents encountered during the new normal.

The researchers used a convenience sampling technique in choosing respondents who are from different year levels until we reach a total of 40 respondents. The results of this study are the successes got a total weighted mean of 3.85 and the opportunities got a total weighted mean of 3.49, while the challenges got a total weighted mean of 3.44. It means the respondents can lessen the challenges and they improved the successes and opportunities in the new normal. 

The successes and opportunities can help the respondents to lessen the challenges encountered by the respondents. Despite of having a lot of challenges encountered by the respondents, the respondents take the opportunity to finish the tasks before the end time and that is a success for respondents. The findings of this study are utilized to determine the challenges, successes, and opportunities in the new normal. The main purpose of this study is to lessen the challenges that the respondents encountered and improve the successes and opportunities in the new normal.
