Stress Level of Third Year BSED Mathematics Major Students Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government around the world has closed the schools and the learning of students was shift thru online, it put a pressure to students that causes different stress level and it’s affected the learning of a student. The purpose of this study is to find out the stress and challenges encountered of third year mathematics major students and how it will minimize and manage the stress level of a student amidst pandemic. Using purposive sampling method, the data were collected on sample of forty (40) student third year mathematics major to find out the different stress level that experiencing during pandemic. This study used descriptive research method in gathering information regarding Stress Level of Third Year Mathematics Major Students Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic. To determining data, we used purposive random sampling in collecting from 3rd year Mathematics major students, for total of 40 respondents.

The results showed that during covid-19 pandemic students answered that they are stress because of financial such as school fees including miscellaneous and other fees, unable to travel due to quarantine restrictions, struggle with school work load. And the majority results from the respondents is moderately stressed and other students are very affected due to covid-19 pandemic. As the covid-19 appear many students affected, and because of the transition of educational learning system students stress level increases because of the challenges they encountered during the time of pandemic. Not only their physical, and emotional aspect are affected but also their learning process.
