Abstract

The researchers conducted the effects of cyber bullying to the academic performance of the grade 6 learners of San Bartolome Elementary School. The main purpose of this implementation was to identify victims of cyberbullying and analyze their emotional and mental states. This research is carried out using a quantitative method. The instruments used in this study, in which thirty (30) learners participated, includes surveys, questionnaires. most respondents agreed that cyberbullying affects students' academic performance. Cyberbullying is bullying in the digital space. Text his messages, social media, forums, online games, etc. on phones, computers, tablets, etc. In 2022, bullying is still a problem for most people. Bullying of any kind can have physical and psychological effects on children. Sending, posting, or disseminating unfavorable, harmful, or malicious content about someone else is considered cyber bullying. It can also involve disclosing sensitive or private information about another person in a way that causes embarrassment or humiliation. struggling in school are just some of the challenges children can face when they are targeted. 

The results show that most of the respondents are between 10-12 years old having 90% of the respondents; Having 53.3% of the respondents most of them are male. And most of the respondents are used Facebook which is 60%. And The effects of Cyber bullying on the learners in attendance is neutral with the average   of 3.00. and still the effects of cyber bullying on the Grade 6 of learners in self-bearing is neutral as the computed with the average weighted mean of 3.48. and the effects of cyber bullying in class participation is neutral with the average weighted mean of
3.08. and on the other hand, the effects of cyber bullying in examination with the average weighted mean of 3.90 is Agree. And The effects of cyber bullying on the Grade 6 of learners in Group Collaboration is neutral as the computed with the average weighted mean of 3.24. and when it comes to the students’ attributes to cope with cyber bullying is strongly agree with the average weighted mean of 4.50.   

The effect of cyber bullying to the academic performance of the Grade 6 learners in San Bartolome Elementary School is important to know specially for those who victims in cyber bullying. It is very common problem now a days because of using technology even if it is necessary to used. Some of students effects the academic performance in terms of attendance, self-bearing, class participation, examination, and group collaboration. The findings of this study aims to prevent and utilize the factors that can affect their academic performance and the solution for this is Block the bully on all online platform, avoid sharing sensitive personal information in online where everyone can see it, and Don’t respond to the bully’s message. With the help of school administration, guidance counselor, teachers, parents, and students this study will be good for the readers. The mentioned dilemma above can be seen and observed in an actual classroom situation. Many students experienced cyber bullying that result difficulty in coping up with the lessons and had a low school rating.
