Abstract

Student teachers are required to undergo rigorous learning experiences such as practice teaching. It provides students with a firsthand experience of becoming an efficient teacher. It is also an opportunity for them to apply what they have learned so that they can be able to create a positive and safe learning environment for learners. That's why this research study explored the extent of Readiness in Classroom Management of Fourth year BEED Student Practice Teaching (SPT) at Bestlink College of the Philippines. 

The researchers find out that there are no available questionnaires in regards on their topic, that's why they decided to construct their own 50 items survey questionnaire. The components of questionnaire are coming from the review of related literature and studies related to our topic, both local and foreign. Researchers also used internet to gather additional information then, they brainstormed. They used a simple random sampling technique in gathering data. The researchers sought permission to conduct the research from the head of the department of the school. Then, they administered and retrieved the questionnaire manually. After thorough analysis of the data, the researchers find out first the demographic profile of respondents. As of ages 21-25 years old were 92% and most of them are female having 92% as well. When it comes to classroom management skills, most of the respondents are strongly agree in terms of praise/feedback with an average weighted mean of 4.56. For the preparation of their practice teaching, respondents are strongly agreeing in terms of teaching materials with an average weighted mean of 4.42. The researcher also finds out that respondents encountered some problems while preparing for their practice teaching because 60% of them are working student. All the data gathered were analyzed using percentage and frequency, ranking and average weighted mean. The data were also presented, analyzed, and interpreted in tables by using the descriptive rating of data.

The researcher came up with the recommendation for school administrator, teacher, parents, students, and future researchers that having an effective classroom management will increase meaningful academic learning and facilitates social and emotional growth for both teachers and learners. It also decreases negative behaviors and increases time spent academically engaged. So, student who undergo the rigorous

experience in practice teaching has already prepared for the real world of the teaching profession. Thus, Student Practice Teaching is considered as a training requirement for teachers.
