Abstract

Employed students are those who figure out how to make things happen for themselves and others. They must work for themselves to meet their basic needs. On the other hand, academic performance refers to a student's ability to manage their academics and complete all the tasks assigned to them. 

The researchers utilized the descriptive method in identifying the effects of the challenges encountered in academic performance of the 3rd year BEED working students in Bestlink College of the Philippines. Thirty (30) participants were selected through a purposive sampling method using Google forms. 

The researcher finds that As a result of their financial struggles to pay for their tuition and other fees, working students' academic performance is affected. The need to be independent to gain experience is one of the factors that motivates students to work. They are usually on time and can manage their time when it comes to attendance. No issues with class participation have been reported by the respondents. They are unable to participate in field excursions for school-related activities because they spend more than one or two days working instead of going on them.

Today's students work instead of just studying to fund both their personal needs and their education, something that their parents should be doing. Due to the time constraints associated with balancing job and study, the difficulties they face have an impact on how well they succeed academically. They experience stress because of having to struggle to manage their time so that they may meet their needs in both their personal and educational lives.
