Abstract

A cooperative learning approach is a student working in pairs, small groups, large groups, heterogeneous groups, or homogeneous groups. With this, the researchers aimed to know how the impact of the cooperative learning approach on the academic performance of the students.

The researchers utilized the descriptive method in to describe the impact of a cooperative learning approach on the academic performance of third year BEED students of the Bestlink College of the Philippines. Through random sampling using drawing lots, fifty (50) respondents were selected to participate in the study.

The results reveals that a cooperative learning approach impacts students’ communication skills and academic performance. Thus, the researchers recommend that School administrators use a positive leadership approach, Teachers maintain using a cooperative learning approach and be more thoughtful of how they may encourage socialization among their pupils to improve academic performance, and Parents give their children their full support and encourage them to put in extra effort to improve their academic achievement.
