Abstract

In today’s modern world, technological advancements change the behavior and system of consumption of people around the world Mahmood, (2020). Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has an impact on how people learn and how they learn. Knowledge in the context of today’s world. In these improvements, a smartphone is a device with computational capabilities and communication choice, analogous to a computer operating system. 

The researchers utilized the descriptive method to study the effects of cellphone use on the learning behavior of Sixty-five (65) randomly selected grade 4 learners at Melencio M. Castelo Elementary School. The researchers find that the use of cellphones during class instruction is that learners had difficulty thinking creatively, were hardly aware of their own ideas, and cannot finish that need to be done. Additionally, the learners got low grades for projects, had lack of concentration in doing assignments, and do not have a focus.

Based on the results, the researchers suggest that students spend their free time to study the effects of using cellphones. Parents may also help their children limit their exposure of cellphone and motivate them to interact with their peers. school administrators should set rules and regulations to limit the usage of cellphone of the students and for the future researchers to have an idea on the effects of using cellphone in the learning behavior that will help them to their studies.
