Abstract
When dealing with Drug abuse issues, the number one prevention is supposed to begin with education. The school has both the capability and responsibility to spread the dangers of drugs to oneself and the community. There are programs with information that provide the most effective when it is followed up with continued support. Families should also be involved in the overall Drug prevention programs and campaigns. This is the same for communities or the workplace in the prevention process.
This is the reason why the researchers aimed to assess the campaign programs on Drug Prevention at Barangay Sta. Monica, Quezon City. There should be a concrete plan that is being implemented in the area to ensure that families who failed in their initiatives will be supported by the barangay community.
The study concluded that based on the demographic profile of the respondents. As to Barangay Officials, the age bracket 42-50 years old and 50 above both got a frequency of 6 or 30 percent. As to Police officers, the highest frequency was in the age bracket of 26-33 years old with 11 or 55 percent. As attested by the group of respondents on the level of effectiveness of the Drug Prevention Campaign at Barangay Sta. Monica in Quezon City as assessed by the groups of respondents in terms of manpower, system and procedures and finance and logistic was regarded as “very effective”.
While the group of respondents to the problems encountered by the respondents that affect the effectiveness of the Drug Prevention Campaign at Barangay Sta. Monica in Quezon City was regarded as “moderately serious”. The group of respondents as to measures proposed to solve the problems encountered were regarded as “Highly recommended”.
The findings of the study showed the Effectiveness of the Drug Prevention Campaign at Barangay Sta. Monica in Quezon City in terms of manpower, system and procedure and finance and logistics was regarded as “very effective “. Nevertheless, the researchers come up the recommendation such as Requesting additional mobile patrol cars for the improvement of mobility, especially in the conduct of drug prevention programs of the Philippine National Police. In addition, Additional trainings and seminar for all police officers especially those who are assigned to the special operation team in the campaign against illegal drugs. Lastly is for additional communication equipment and state-of-the-art surveillance gadget for the betterment of the program and the safety of all police officers.
