Abstract

This study employs descriptive survey methods to investigate and collect information regarding the “Impact of Online Distance Learning on Academic Performance of Selected Students at Bestlink College of the Philippines.” Simple Random Techniques using the fishbowl draw method were used to select 50 BPED Students of 1st to 4th-year level. Data were collected via a survey questionnaire. The data were analyzed quantitatively and using tables and graphs.

The result shows that most of the respondents are comprised of 30 male participants with a 60% percentage and an age range of 18–20. Next, 4th-year respondents have a high response number of 20, equivalent to 40%. The majority of the students are having difficulties selecting the best time and place for learning at home when there's a discussion, with the highest mean of 3.14, and we found out the impact of online distance learning on a discussion, with the highest mean of 3.18 in the description in a statement of "I can easily access information using the media platform in an online class." The researchers also found out that "there are benefits to participating in an online setting," with a mean of 3.16. Based on the gathered data, according to the effect of online distance learning on their academic performance based on their grade point average, the highest percentage is found to be from the respondents' 1st year in the second semester, with an average of 19%.

Online distance learning is increasingly becoming part of the education system worldwide. Online channels have made education convenient and easily accessible to one and all. Even though online classes were reported to be convenient in terms of saving time, both teachers and students still For some students, online learning is not effective, and for them, it has started to affect their studying. Technical assistance was shown to have an impact on students' satisfaction with online classes, although teachers will work with the students to upgrade or improve the online format of classes to improve the learning experience.
