Abstract

Self-esteem can affect how much you like and value yourself. Self-esteem is a person's primary source; it is how we regard and perceive ourselves. It impacts one's overall self-perception, assessment activities, and emotional state. Physical Fitness can help you stay healthy and fit enough to do schoolwork, meet home obligations, and still have the energy to enjoy sports and other leisure activities.

The study aims to investigate the responsiveness of 2nd-year BPED students at Bestlink College of the Philippines to the new modern-day learning. This research will impact their self-esteem through physical activities at school, allowing students to develop their capacities to love themselves while also improving their health.

The researchers used descriptive design in this study and identified fifty (50) respondents from Bachelor of Physical Education 2nd-year college students who experience a lack of self-esteem and physical fitness were the target as our respondents. The primary instrument used was survey questionnaires distributed by the researchers. The researchers used simple random sampling techniques for choosing the respondents to ensure equal representation of the variables of the study. The data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, weighted mean, five-point Likert scale, and ranking.

In Table 4.1, our respondents revealed that they were timid when they wanted to ask, with a weighted mean of 2.78. In physical fitness, most of our respondents answered that when they engaged in sports competition because it enhanced their strength and endurance, getting a total of 2.88 weighted means. In extracurricular activities, joining programs helps to maintain my weight at a healthy level, and I got rank 1 with a weighted mean of 3.08. Lastly, about the performance task, our respondents revealed that they ensured that they always did their assignment in every subject and got the highest rank with a total 3.3 weighted mean.

The results demonstrated the need for students, teachers, parents, and school administration. The students, no matter their age, gender, and BMI, should take care of the changes in their physical health and be aware of their mental health. They must increase their interest in socialization and sports to improve their lifestyle. The teachers must improve their teaching strategies that engage students in their performance tasks and confidently socialize with their peers. Parents must show their children guidance and full support to strive more to improve and manage themselves. Lastly, the school administration should provide the necessary sports equipment and create a suitable curriculum for the extracurricular activities to motivate and inspire the students to partake, which makes them more productive.
