Abstract

The pandemic's effects forced students to put up with the challenges of online learning. The students of the Bachelor of Physical Education program are finding it challenging to absorb learning materials, especially those that require demonstrations such as picking up new abilities in sports and dance and applying first aid.

This study aims to seek the capabilities of the BPED students at Bestlink College of the Philippines in adjusting to the modern-day learning system. This study attempts to identify if the students can use different educational video references as one of the effective tools that can help them learn and perform well in different subjects.

This study incorporates the descriptive method design. The researchers utilized a random sampling technique to determine the target population. Fifty (50) students from 1st year to 4th year with ages ranging from 18-23 years old were selected to participate through survey forms. Selected respondents must be currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Physical Education at Bestlink College of the Philippines, have experienced online learning, and have used educational video references as one of their learning tools.

The analysis showed that the most preferred video reference of BPED students is Facebook, where most teenagers are seen engaged in the said social platform with a frequency of 20 and a corresponding percentage of 40%. In addition, BPED students prefer viewing educational videos that last between six to ten minutes, with the highest mean of 3.24 and an equivalent interpretation of an effective response.

The study shows that the learning performance of the BPED students is enhanced by watching video references related to classroom topics in which it is reported that students become more engaged in class through more active participation, being able to demonstrate various dance steps and the like easily and accurately in class which turns out to greatly affect their scores in practical examinations. Hence, watching related video references enhances learning and performance, improving scores, especially in practical examinations innate to the course. Thus, for a student to do in school, the researchers create Guidelines that need to be considered: 1. In searching for educational videos, always look to a social website or platform that is easy to access and engaging. 2. Choose educational videos that are easy to understand.  3. Always choose videos that are convenient to watch. 4. Make sure that you have an internet connection so you can watch educational videos. And 5. Take note of the important information that is in the Educational Videos.
