Assessment on Providing Equipped Faculty Room per Strand to Improve Teachers’ Productivity

Abstract

The research was conceptualized to determine the assessment on providing faculty room per strand to improve teachers’ productivity. The school provided a cubicle for teachers inside the classroom of their advisory class. However, some teachers had a faculty room, wherein they can focus on doing their school works, such as recording, lesson plans, and activities. However, a cubicle can be distracting because of the noise of the students during class discussions. The results of the study can be a basis for the improvement of teachers’ productivity by providing separate faculty rooms for all senior high school teachers per strand. The researchers used a descriptive research design and survey method to gather the data needed in this study. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, wherein six teachers per strand were selected to present the entire population of their strand in the senior high school department. Based on the results of the study, proper ventilation and good working conditions were the factors affecting the productivity and preparedness of senior high school teachers. The teacher’s productivity using the faculty room was assessed and resulted in the following: (1) Timeliness in the report –Faculty room per strand positively affected their productivity in terms of timeliness in submitting reports and other paper works needed. (2) Accomplished work –Providing faculty room per strand positively affected their productivity in terms of the number of accomplished works. They can finish their workloads, such as lesson plans, recordings, and visual aids. To effectively improve the productivity of the teachers, the researchers recommended the following: (1) Proper ventilation –The faculty room must have proper ventilation to avoid bad health conditions, thereby maintaining good performance and attendance. (2) Working conditions –The faculty room must have enough facilities and equipment for teachers, such as tables, chairs, cabinets, and any equipment such as computers and printers that add to the productivity of the teachers.
