Abstract

One of the largest problems in the Philippines is the daily heavy traffic in EDSA, particularly during rush hours. One of the problems is the increasing number of terminals in EDSA and drop-off of passengers coming from long distances and drop-off passengers in the wrong lane. Thus, this situation starts the traffic or occasionally when they make a U-turn. This phenomenon has a considerable impact on the drivers. Quantitative research was used as the research design for the study. A purposive sampling technique was utilized to gather respondents in assessing the level of acceptability of the proposed underground bus terminal miniature. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. The researchers conducted a survey to determine whether the proposed project is acceptable in terms of the accuracy of the floor plan, uniqueness of design, appropriate construction materials, and presentation. The results of the study in terms of accuracy of the floor plan, the uniqueness of design, appropriate construction materials, and presentation were highly acceptable as assessed by electrical engineers and civil engineers. This result indicated no significant difference between the assessments of the two groups of respondents in terms of the cited variables. Meanwhile, electrical engineers obtained an overall weighted mean of 4.02, which was interpreted as highly acceptable with a variance of 4, while civil engineers obtained an overall weighted mean of 3.98, which was interpreted as highly acceptable with a variance of 2. The subsequent discussion forwarded by the two groups of respondents are as follows: add materials such as Styrofoam and paint, do not use bright colors for the design of the miniature, and pay more attention to doing the miniature to make it more accurate and precise according to the measurements.
