Assessment of the Multiple Intelligences: Comprehensive Evaluation Tool for Holistic Educational Outcomes among Grade 12 General Academic Strand Students in Bestlink College of the Philippines
Keywords:
Multiple intelligences, assessment, evaluation toolsAbstract
The capacity of our brains to learn and acquire knowledge in several disciplines is known as multiple intelligences. Learning can be greatly aided by hobbies like painting, writing or listening to music, seeing a performance, and others. As a result, we may begin to think of intellectual capacity more widely. The psychologist Howard Gardner first put forth the many intelligences theory in his 1983 book Frames of Mind. In Intelligence Reframed 1999, Gardner provides a much-needed report on the theory, its evolution, and its revision. He also introduced two new intelligences.
The researchers employed a simple random approach and the descriptive quantitative research method. As a data gathering tool, a questionnaire was used to collect the responses of sixty (60) grade 12 General Academic Strand students.
According to the results of the assessment of the multiple intelligences among grade 12 general academic students, they can be described as musical intelligence, visual-spatial, verbal-linguistic, logical-mathematical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, naturalistic intelligence, and existential intelligence. Additionally, there are tools for assessing multiple intelligences in terms of self-assessment, multi-modal assessment, and collaborative assessment, which are described as fully assessed.
The discussion summarizes findings regarding the assessment of multiple intelligences among grade 12 General Academic Strand students and tools for assessing multiple intelligences. It includes recommendations from the researchers regarding the further development of multiple intelligences and provides students with an in-depth understanding of evaluation tools.
