Eloquence in speaking using the English language is fluent, elegant, and forcible or persuasive speaking. Thus, this study is necessary for Grade 12 HUMSS Strandstudents because most of the academic subjects in HUMSS include public speaking, especially on reports and speech. This study also promoted solutions for the students to improve their English-speaking skills. The researchers used qualitative and descriptive research methods as the research design. Survey questionnaires were used as an instrument to gather data from selected Grade 12 HUMSS Strandstudents. A purposive sampling technique was used in choosing 80 respondents. The result of the study was based on the assessment made by Grade 12 HUMSS Strandstudents about the difficulties in speaking in English and its effects on academic performance. Having difficulty in speaking English has considerable effects on the students’ academic performance and their daily life. The researchers found that the difficulties in speaking in English can affect the academic performance of the students. The researchers suggested that the teachers should manage the students less and should have a goal to solve the problems that are academically encountered by the students because of the difficulties in speaking in English.</p> ER -
