It guides the personnel and detainees daily. This personnelimplement every detail on how detainees and jail officers should act to keep the facilities clean. These guidelines help the personnel work easily daily and control the maintenance of the facilities. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) exercises supervision and control over all city and municipal jails, including their establishment and maintenance in every district, city, and municipality for a secure, clean, adequately equipped, and sanitary jail. The BJMP is also involved in the custody and safekeeping of city and municipal prisoners, any fugitive from justice, or person detained awaiting investigation or trial and/or transfer to the national penitentiary, including a violent or mentally ill person who endangers himself or the safety of others, duly certified as such by the proper medical or health officer for pending transfer to a mental institution. Health-related provisions within the penitentiary institutions must include assistance as a part of secondary and tertiary prevention but alsoin a pre-eminent way of promoting health. (Garcia-Guerrero, Marco, 2016). The study utilized a descriptive method of research to show the appraisal of the respondents on the quality of Bureau of Jail Management in Quezon City Jail. The research was collected to answer the question concerning quality. It involved descriptive recording analysis and interpretation of conditions that exist. The fundamental reason for carrying the descriptive research was to identify the cause of the latest events and whether it is concerned with the description of the existing distribution of variables. Based on the aforementioned summary of findings, the following conclusions were drawn. The respondents regarded the hygiene and sanitation of PDLs inside the Quezon City Jail interms of facilities, food preparation, comfort room, and garbage disposal as satisfactory. The common problems encountered by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and the PDLs in the implementation of hygiene and sanitation inside the Quezon City Jail were regarded as satisfactory. The respondent strongly agreed with the proposed solutions in the first table to improve the hygiene and sanitation of PDLs inside the Quezon City Jail. The proposed solution “Prioritize acquiring additional equipment for cleaning” was the most recommended. The researchers recommended having additional facilities for PDLs to reduce congestion, building water treatment facilities to produce a sufficient supply of potable water, building additional facilities for the proper segregation of waste, and requesting additional kitchen equipment to be able to prepare food cleanly and efficiently.</p> ER -
